Award-winning DC video artist Alberto Roblest is now accepting applications for DC Digital Portraits, a 6-month workshop beginning in January. Anyone ages 17 to 24 years old—looking to tap into their powers of creativity and self-expression—may apply for this free workshop.

If selected, you and a dozen others will meet once a week at local museums, galleries and artist studios, before embarking on your own masterpieces. Your work can take a variety of forms: paintings, drawings, experimental video, photo essays, documentaries, audio files, websites, blogs and Facebook pages or any combination of these. T
he best pieces made by each participant will be selected for a 2010 exhibition.

No previous artistic training is required. Rather, this workshop will help you develop your creative powers in ways that will help you succeed not only the the field of art but in a wide range of professional and personal pursuits.

It's FUN! It's FREE! Camera equipment and some computer time will be available to group members. Participants will receive a transportation stipend to cover travel costs to and from weekly meetings.

Meetings: Once a week on Saturday afternoons, starting Jan. 30. The project will wrap up in July with an exhibition of your best work.
